Marckwort offers language training in Finnish on beginner level for our company clients. Below is a listing of the open Finnish language courses that are available at Marckwort autumn 2024. Sign up by September 18th 2024, welcome!
1. Introduction to the Finnish Language for Complete Beginners
When?
Course duration: 10×60 minutes
Day and time: Wednesdays 2:45-3:45 PM (EEST/EET)
Starting time: October 2nd 2024
Price: €295 (incl. VAT 25.5%, price excl. VAT: €235.06)
Course contents – What do I learn?
We have designed this course specifically for those who wish to start learning Finnish from the very beginning. Together we will explore:
- The fundamental structures, grammar and vocabulary of the Finnish language
- How to communicate practical situations, use common greetings and everyday expressions
The goal of this course is to:
- Provide a solid foundation for your Finnish language studies
- Give you the tools to continue learning after the course
The course progresses at the pace of the group and its needs.

2. Level A1 for Beginners with Some Prior Basics in the Finnish Language
When?
Course duration: 10×60 minutes
Day and time: Wednesdays 4:00-5:00 PM (EEST/EET)
Starting time: October 2nd 2024
Price: €295 (incl. VAT 25.5%, price excl. VAT: €235.06)
Course Contents – What Do I Learn?
We have designed this Finnish language training for learners who already have some basic knowledge of Finnish and feel they are at level A1 or higher. If unsure of your level, please see the CEFR scale level descpritions for self-assessment.
During this course, we will reinforce and expand foundational Finnish language skills. You will:
- Revisit key topics such as pronunciation and common greetings.
- Cover practical language topics, such as question words and telling time.
- Learn how to communicate more effectively in everyday situations
- Build confidence in using Finnish.
The goal is to help you strengthen your Finnish skills and continue advancing on your language-learning journey. We’ll also:
- Dive deeper into essential grammar, including verbtype 1
- And explore the concept of vowel harmony.
The course content is flexible, and the course progresses based on the pace of the group. As supplementary material, we will use the textbook Suomen Mestari 1 (not included in the price).
How Do I Sign Up to the Finnish Online Courses?
Sign up by September 18th 2024 to kielikurssit(a)marckwort.fi. Please include the following details in your message:
- The name of course you are interested in.
- Your first and last name.
- Your e-mail address that we’ll send the Teams link and invoice to.
- Your address and phone number.
- Your company.
What about Invoicing and Cancellation Policy?
- You will receive the invoice by e-mail. The invoice needs to be paid in full before the course starts.
- If needed, your group can reschedule a lesson. This can be done free of charge by contacting the trainer a minimum of 2 working days before the lesson.
- No refunds are given should you want to discontinue your course but you can give your paid place to another participant free of charge.
What is Good to Know about the Finnish Course?
The Finnish courses are given by an experienced Finnish language trainer over Teams. You can look forward to enjoying interactive and communicative lessons in a small group up to 8 people. The courses will take place if a minimum of 5 participants per group sign up.
What Do I Need to Study Finnish Remotely?
You only need a quiet space, a computer with an internet connection, a camera, and a microphone to participate. We recommend you have the textbook Suomen Mestari 1 by the first lesson.
